New Orleans. It's a great place to live. Even though I was there right after Katrina, it still had heart. The people still had joy and food! And music! If you ever get a chance to go, do it. Go
eat all the delicious food and go to a small hole in the wall bar and watch a live show. It's totally worth it.
I not only lived in NOLA for several years, but I also started my 365 Project in NOLA and so I have a lot of photos of everyday life, which is what a 365 project is all about! I am glad that I tried it while I was there, because there are so many fun and interesting things to take photos of! You can
see other photos of New Orleans HERE.
It's almost time for Mardi Gras again! Soon people will be partying in the streets! I know the
King Cakes are already being eaten. And the babies are being discovered!

For my previous Where I've Lived: New Orleans, go
HERE. Don't worry; there are other places on the way!
Have you ever been somewhere where they celebrate Carnival / Mardi Gras (or another big event)? Did you like it or would you rather visit a place when it is less crowded?
As always amazing pictures! I lived in Sevilla Spain where they celebrate La Feria! Amazing colors and excitement but it is an amazing city all other times of the year too! Such passionate people and the buildings are amazing!
ReplyDeleteHome sweet home!!! Love the pictures. The one of St Bernard really brings back memories. We drove through the lower nine the summer of 2006 and oh my gosh it was so heart breaking. Miles and miles and miles of destruction and abandoned neighborhoods. We were lucky to live uptown, but most of our friends lost homes. What a crazy time that was.
ReplyDeleteI've never actually stayed in NOL just passed through. I've been in Colombia during their carnivals and my parents have taken photographs there for it over many years! It is a little crazy and crowded for me but I liked experiencing it.
ReplyDeleteI've never celebrated Mardi Gras/Carnival, but I do love New Orleans.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of the doors! I hope to check out New Orleans while we're living in the southern part of the country. Maybe there's a race there?!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to go to New Orleans for years. I'll get there one of these days. Probably not during Mardi Gras, though. That honestly scares me.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are amazing! Random question for you. When you were traveling around Europe, did you have a backpack that you really liked to use? We will be leaving in a week and wanted to get a couple of backpacks for our trip. Any advice?
ReplyDeleteI have never been to NOLA. I would like to visit but NOT during Mardi Gras. I think it would be too much for me! I don't do well with load crowds and such!
ReplyDeleteI really want to go there. I was hoping to get my application pulled in the ticket drawing for the Final Four there this year, but no dice. Great pictures!
