Looking Forward

Today I am looking forward to having a burrito at one of my favorite places in the Mission. When I used to live in San Francisco, I would walk over to this Taqueria from my house. It's kind of a strange venue; it's tiny and its right next to a fish market and a Mexican shopping center. But the burritos are just as good as I remember! From work, it's only about an 8 minute BART ride to get there, so its a fun lunch time field trip!

This week I am looking forward to the rain (we need it!!), a great long run on Saturday (hopefully with no rain) and the Sour Beer festival on Sunday. Its the SF Beer Week and although I do not attend all the events, it's fun to attend a couple. You get to try a lot of different types of beer at once, and there are many varieties that the brewers bring that aren't normally available to the public. Plus, you get to see a butt load of beards!

This month I am looking forward to going to visiting Lisa. We have tentative plans for much hiking, hopefully lots of hot chocolate and gabbing and reading and fun! I have never been to NC, except to fly though the airport (which has rocking chairs), so this will be a fun adventure for me. I am also looking forward to the Way Too Cool 50k, as well as a tentative plan to see one of my good friends the first weekend of March for some food and catch up time with her.

This year I am looking forward to the Boston Marathon, a trip to the Grand Canyon, a probable trip to Oregon this summer, lots of running, my first 100k race, a hopeful trip somewhere foreign (as of yet TBD), lots of reading and a super great summer (with two trips to Tahoe planned so far) with lots of swimming and outdoor activities!

What are you looking forward to? How's the weather where you are?

  2. I love these posts. Today' I'm looking forward to lunch as well. I've been making more effort with food at home so today it's leftovers (beet, barley & radish salad w feta). And I also just booked some holidays so I'm looking forward to them.

I'm also looking forward to hearing about your NC weekend - Lisa and you both seem so excited about it and I really hope it's wonderful and that you're able to do the hikes you want.

  3. My only experience so far of NC is the airport as well. And I wanted so badly to sit in those chairs but we were running through trying to catch our flight and since I was on day 2 of traveling after having already missed another connecting flight, I took no chances!

  4. The day is almost over so I will just do the rest...

This week I'm looking forward to having the day off work tomorrow! I have big plans to be super productive.

This month I'm looking forward to really cleaning up my eating and keeping up with the strength training to hopefully drop those last few stubborn pounds.

This year I am definitely most excited about our big trip to Ireland and Scotland in May. I just can't wait!! Also looking forward to the girls running weekend in SF this fall :)

  5. I am envious that you are going to the Grand Canyon! I want to get there eventually. My sister lives in AZ so I really need to plan a trip sometime with her and her husband.

I am excited to see you this week! :) Besides that, I am looking forward to going home at the end of the month and going to Florida to visit some family in March. After that, my life is just such a blank page so I haven't planned anything! Well, besides our running weekend in SF. ;) I am committed to making that happen regardless of where I live...

The weather here is not great this week as we are getting snow and ice Tues-Thur I think, but it will clear up in time for your arrival. :)
