Ten Days of Thanksgiving: Days 7 and 8

Today we have Days 7 and 8 of the Ten Days (crammed into 4 by me) of Thanksgiving (inspired by Lisa).

#7: Fruit: I eat at least an apple a day, sometimes more. I enjoy pretty much all fruit and am glad that we live in a place where we can get it fresh and juicy no matter what season, although I prefer each fruit in the season where it is ripe. I was lucky this year to catch both blackberry and apple season at home, where we can pick them right off the bush and tree. I also very much enjoyed the blueberries and fresh peaches from the farms in Missouri.

#8: Flour: I know that you already know that I love to bake. Actually I tend to stay away from bread-like items most of the time. However, when I get the chance I do love to throw some flour in with a few eggs and make a muffin or a cookie or bread. So, even though I don’t use it very often, I am thankful for flour and for the baked goods it makes.

A Few Other Things I’ve Made Using Flour:

What is your favorite fruit? Is there a good farmer's market near your house? What carb-loaded goodie do you like to splurge on from time to time?

  1. Ah, flour! I'm looking forward to baking several things tomorrow in preparation for a Thanksgiving feast! My favorite fruit...? It's so hard to pick because I love so many, but I think cherries are probably my absolute favorite.

  2. I wish I baked more! When I cook, it's usually for a meal and I don't really consider it for "fun." I would love to learn how to bake and make some pretty yummies! :)

  3. Flour is a good thing to be thankful for! I will definitely be thankful for it as I make homemade chocolate chip and M&M cookies tomorrow. :)

  5. My favorite fruit is raspberries, I think. But I don't have them very often because they are SO expensive. My grandparents had a raspberry bush, though, so I had lots and lots of raspberries as a child. Yum!!

I have a farmers market close to my house, as you know. :) It's not very big, but I love it!

  6. I don't really have a favorite fruit. I love them all. And even though I can get most fruits any time of the year, I agree that they're better in the proper season.
